More and more electronic devices are used for automating all kind of things. Think of your car, light switches, watches, solar panel inverters, etc. A lot of these devices are IP enabled and in some way connected to the Internet. The Internet of Things (IoT) is that part of the Internet where devices communicate with each other instead of with humans.

This IoT can be used as an immense botnet for the good or the bad. This has been proven by the Mirai software which is used to launch the biggest DDoS'es we know of. Even firewalls are not enough to stop this kind of misuse. In this talk we dive into the principles of an IoT botnet, we take a look at the Mirai software and discuss what's beyond this ...
